ADVERTISING FOR A GOOD PURPOSE!
Did you follow the beat? I did.
Now let's follow the advice at the end of the video and watch more ads about human rights.
But first, ask yourself 'what do I know about this subject?
1.What are human rights?
2.How many human rights are there?
3.What are these human rights?
Now go to http://www.youthforhumanrights.org/index.htm
Watch the video 'What are Human Rights?'
Take some notes and check your answers...
Click on 'Watch the ads!' Scroll down a bit and there you have them. Watch some of them or watch them all. These are well done ads about Everyone's Human Rights.
Now, let's GET ACTIVE (top bar, on the right). Click and find out 'things anyone can do for human rights'.
Have you already done any of these things? If you have, well done, let's do more; if you haven't, you can start today!
I've just been following suggestions 3 and 13. Now it's your turn!
Why don’t you follow suggestion 11?!? Create something: a drawing, song, video, poem or just some lines, about one of the human rights or the subject of human rights in general. 1, 2, 3 GO! And share it with your peers and teachers. The Future depends on you!
Let's GET UNITED.

Last but not Least... about Advertising and Consumerism
Advertising boosts consumerism by creating desires that didn't exist before. As Gillian Dyer puts it, "today it suffuses the whole system of mass communication" (Advertising as Communication, 1995).
Let’s watch a video about how communication has evolved since pre-historic times. The video also focuses on how technologies have contributed to change the way we communicate and enhances the future prospects of advertising.
WHAT changed advertising? And HOW? Watch the video and find out.

Welcome!Already Hungry?Be my guest!
Let's begin with a poem written by year 11 E after learning the topic "Environment". They are going to read the poem aloud and record it.
WONDERFUL WORLD
White wash flown across the
rivers sandy ground
now found across oakes roots
and is skywald bound
It spreads like a cancer in a
world pounding away of its own decay
Call it ignorance
Call it greed
What was once a want
Is now a need
We are dreaming
And the dreams are flying
While the world is screaming
And our heart is crying
Jay, Artur, Alvaro, Ana LĂșcia, Ana Rita, Ana, Ana Rita, AndrĂ©, David, Diogo, Helena, Marco, Margarida, Marta, Sadi
